Happy New Year

Hopefully everyone has had a restful Christmas and are all raring and ready for the New Year.

Swimming starts again on 4th January 2013 at 8.00pm and all sessions will run as normal.  In addition we have an extra session on Saturday between 4-5pm.  All swimmers are welcome to attend and will help to work off the chocolates and biscuits eaten over Christmas.

We will be holding the joint swimming / water polo session on 12^th January between 4-6pm.  This will be split with one hour of each sport.  For those swimmers who enjoy the water polo, we are working together to bring the two sports together with a reduced cost for the second sport.  All swimmers are welcome to join in.

We have 2 galas coming up in February, invites will be coming out shortly.  Each swimmer will only be committed to one gala as they are a week apart and at two different levels.  The deadlines are quite tight so please respond as quickly as possible.

ASA Membership renewals are now due.  I will email shortly to confirm the price for this year.

Squad T-Shirt order forms are out, if you need a copy, Paula and myself will have copies.  We need these in quickly to get the shirts in time for the first February Gala.  It would be great to have all the swimmers to be wearing the same shirts.

Autumn Term

Hopefully you have all had a restful and pleasurable summer.  Now is the time to get back into the swing of things with the new term starting, the Coaching team at FHS would like to also look at the new term as a fresh start.

We would like to ask all swimmers to be on the poolside 10 minutes before the session start.  We have noticed more recently that we have a number of swimmers who need extra warm up before the session starts.  We would like to organise this as a group.  Please arrive in plenty of time to allow for changing.  Charlotte will leave the reception 15 minutes before the session starts, please make sure that you report to Charlotte/James if you arrive after this time.

ALL swimmers must bring a drink with them.  We are seeing a number of swimmers regularly arriving without a drink. Dehydration during swimming is very common and initially presents and headaches and feeling unwell.

Kit bags are required for all full members.  We appreciate that there is an initial cost involved, therefore would ask that you start with fins and then add kick-boards and pull buoys.  Please make sure your kit has your name on it as the poolside helpers will help to clear the poolside on Sundays.
